Exams: 2 exam papers of 1 hour 30 minutes each
Lessons: 48 x 1 hour 30 minute lessons.
This GCSE requires a love of history and of piecing together meaning from old sources that are steeped in symbolism. A love of stories involving hydras and other beasties is great too.
We will explore a range of famous characters such as Heracles, Theseus, Romulus and Remus. We will read myths as told by ancient writers such as Ovid, Homer and Livy
We will explore how the Mycenaeans lived by looking at their architecture and art. We will also look in detail at the man who discovered much of our archaeological evidence, Heinrich Schliemann.
